The new iphone is coming

The signs are all there for a new iphone in June. I suppose this is where the 18 month contract is really going to hurt the early adopters hungry for the proper connectivity of 3G. I've found 3G incredibly patchy in the UK.

O2 completely cleared its stock in days when it introduced a £100 reduction a few weeks ago. I always ask owners for their first impressions, and whilst some say it's not as easy as they were expecting, almost all complain of addiction.

Whilst the innovation is in the user experience, it seems the real genius was the compulsory data plan. It must be a barrier to purchase, but it does mean that any potential developer for new SDK can rely on the existence of a 'as much as you can eat' data plan. Once the 3G version arrives, expect to finally see some really interesting apps on your handset.
